WHARFEDALE anglers are reminded that rivers are off limits for coarse fishing from Sunday, as the close season begins.
The Environment Agency is warning anyone going fishing in any river, stream, drain and some canals that the coarse fishing season will be closed from Sunday, and anyone caught breaking the rules may be prosecuted.
Fishing is still permitted on many canals and stillwaters, depending on landowner agreement.
