NO MORE negativity on the Civic Centre.
The council that I lead has consistently worked hard with like-minded people to find a sustainable future for Otley Civic Centre, and continues to do so, with the support of some councillors from all parties.
The Town Council’s Core is an economic, central and popular resource for the town.
Mr Mulholland has not put forward any costed proposals for financing the £2-3 million for renovation and £150,000 to £200,000 running costs for the Civic Centre as a town hall. That is why there is cross-party support on Otley Town Council for the Venue 21 proposals, which are a route to refurbishing and running the building as a successful venue that will not cripple the taxpayer.
Can I suggest we draw a line under the negative attacks from the Lib Dem MP and allow the people of Otley to decide who has taken the most positive and practical approach to the question of the Civic Centre’s future?
John Eveleigh
Leader,
Otley Town Council
