ANYONE living in the Craven ward, which includes Silsden and Addingham, who is seeking to become more involved in how Airedale Hospital is run by becoming one of its governors, is now invited to put themselves forward for election.

The elections open today and anyone interested should either phone the Electoral Reform Services on 0208 889 9203, email ciara.norris@electoralreform.co.uk or fill in a nomination form at votebyinternet.com/airedale. To put yourself forward you must be a member of the trust, be aged 16 or over and live in the area you want to represent. All nomination forms have to be returned by March 27.

Michael Luger, chairman of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, said: “A governor’s role is to make sure the non-executive directors account for the performance of the board by asking the right questions and considering reports on how the trust is working. They also represent the interests of the public and members.”
