WITH one month left until Swimathon 2015, Marie Curie is encouraging people in Aireborough to register for the world’s biggest annual fundraising swim.

Swimathon 2015 takes place at over 600 pools across the UK from April 17-19 including Aireborough Leisure Centre and raises money for Marie Curie.

Swimmers are participating in the individual 5k, 2.5k or 1.5k or a team 5k or 1.5k challenges.

Already people across Guiseley and Yeadon have signed up to take on the challenge, and Marie Curie is encouraging more people across the region to don their swimming caps, goggles and slip into their swimming costume and take to the pool.

Hannah Saxon, community fundraiser said: “It’s not too late to take on the challenge. It’s a great way to get fit for the summer and every length you swim will help raise vital funds for Marie Curie to care for people with a terminal illness and their families in our community.”

Swimathon entries are open until April 15 and you can register by visiting Swimathon.org or by calling 0845 36 700 36.
