OTLEY’s MP has hailed a £22 million investment in cycling that has been announced for Leeds.
The Government money is to be spent on measures to make it easier and safer for people to travel by bike in and around the city.
MP Greg Mulholland (Lib Dem, Leeds North West) said: “The announcement of this investment in cycling in Leeds is very welcome.
“I am a keen cyclist and have been calling for more investment in infrastructure, both nationally and locally.
“Cycling is a great way to get people moving and is one of the most sustainable ways to travel.
“We need to make sure our transport infrastructure can promote cycling and protect cyclists, and I hope this investment will allow us to make a huge difference for cyclists in the area.”
