Burley Trojans Under-7s won the Ilkley five-a-side Tournament on Sunday.
On a sweltering day at the Ben Rhydding sports ground Trojans under-7's came out victorious. Undefeated in their league with five wins and a draw they progressed to the quarter-final where they beat a strong Sutton side 1-0 with a goal from Ben Thompson.
The semi-final against Harrogate Railway was an astonishing game with Burley two down after four minutes of an eight minute game.
A Herculean effort from all the players created an unbelievable turnaround with first Ben Singleton and then spectacularly Oliver Wilson bringing the scores level - both players then scored a further goal which saw Burley run out 4-2 winners to the obvious delight of the parents on the touchline.
The final was equally enthralling with Burley defeating a Wigton team from Cumbria by a solitary goal, again scored by Oliver Wilson.
Charlie Gregory collected the winning trophy and the winning team was: Ben Thompson, Oliver Wilson, Patrick Crotty, Ben Singleton, Jacob Haronouff, Charlie Gregory and Charlie Franks This tournament has capped a magnificent first year for the Burley Under-7s team who won their Keybury League with only one defeat in 16 games.
