MORE than 100 children have completed a ‘tech-free weekend’ challenge.
Bramhope Primary School asked pupils (plus families and staff) to give up screen-time on Saturday, February 2 and Sunday, February 3.
Instead, they were encouraged to pursue activities that did not involve any electronic devices. In the end 115 children took up the challenge with one family winning a voucher for four to enjoy themselves at Clip ‘n Climb climbing centre, in Leeds.
Teacher Charlotte Hahnel said: “We have had a really positive response from parents with a lot of children taking part. They sent in photos from the weekend showing them doing lots of different activities.”
Bramhope Primary’s Digital Leader, Joseph Taylor, said: “I managed to complete the challenge but I did find it quite hard. Being device-free gives people time to spend with their family.”
A spokeswoman for Clip ‘n Climb added: “Clip ‘n Climb Leeds is thrilled to be supporting Bramhope school’s no-tech challenge.”
