ONE of the UK’s top ultra-runners will give a talk in Otley next month.
Paul Tierney will discuss his record-breaking exploits of June, 2019 when he appears at Otley Methodist Church on Friday, March 6.
It was on June 19 last year that he set a new record for reaching the summit of all 214 ‘Wainwrights’ - the peaks featured in Alfred Wainwright’s iconic pictorial guides to the Lakeland fells..
Paul will hold a question and answer session, following the screening of a film about his Wainwright peak challenge, when he takes the stage in Otley.
The event starts at 7pm and tickets cost £10 with all proceeds going to the Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice in Headingley.
Community Fundraising Manager at Wheatfields Hospice, Kirsty Christmas, said: “Whether you’re a keen hill runner, hiker or simply want to listen to an amazing story, it is sure to be a fascinating evening.” For tickets visit www.sueryder.org/paul-tierney or call (0113) 203 3376.
