WORK on a 319 home development at Bramhope has restarted.
Miller Homes suspended operations at its Spring Wood Park site, on land between Leeds Road and Breary Lane East, at the end of March.
Operations have resumed, in part, this week and will be gradually stepped up as the month progresses.
The company has told Councillor Barry Anderson (Con, Adel & Wharfedale) that all of its personnel will be complying with Public Health England Guidance and its own COVID-19 related site rules.
Construction work was halted on most of the UK’s housebuilding sites following the introduction of the lockdown, at the end of March, to tackle the coronavirus outbreak.
The Government has insisted throughout that residential construction work could continue ‘where it is safe to do so’ and that sites could stay open so long as workers were able to maintain social distancing - though some have questioned how feasible that is in practice.
Several other major housebuilders, including Taylor Wimpey and Vistry Group, have also resumed work on some sites this week.
