OVER the Christmas period Otley Lions Club raised funds for the president’s awards and grants scheme.
These funds were put aside for people and groups to apply for.
A spokesman for the Otley Lions Club said: “Due to the coronavirus we had to put the scheme on hold even though many worthy applications came in.
“With restrictions being eased President David McDowell was able to visit Burley Cricket Club to present them with a cheque for £1,000.
£The money will be used to purchase a new bowling machine to help with training within cricket batting cages and allow users to work on all aspects of batting.
“Otley Lions Club is continuing to support local causes and people through these difficult times.
“If you need help from us or know of someone who does please get in touch via our Facebook page, website - https://www.otleylions.org.uk - or by email at: Otleylionsclub@outlook.com
