VILLAGERS are being invited to put forward their ideas for marking the Queen's Platinum Jubilee next year.
Bramhope & Carlton Parish Council is planning to oversee a local programme of celebrations for the Jubilee which is being marked in the UK from June 2 to June 6. The council says there has been an encouraging response from local groups and individuals who want to become involved and who have offered to help with organisation.
A spokesperson said: "It is not too late to take part in shaping what should be a great event and it is hoped that the first meeting of the organising committee will take place soon. If you have any ideas, comments, suggestions or wish to join in with the organisation, please email: events@bramhopecarlton-pc.gov.uk."
In 2022 the Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.
