THE SUCCESS of a refurbishment project at Bramhope Village Hall was marked with an evening of celebration.

The building, also known as the Robert Craven Hall, has benefitted from improvements thanks to the Phoenix Project.

The work began in 2016, with a new kitchen followed by a new roof. The gothic hall has been given modern insulation, new central heating, new lighting, doors and toilets.

A spokesperson said: "Although there is still a considerable amount to do, this major milestone was celebrated with an evening of invited guests; those who have been directly involved in supporting our wonderful charity. The official reopening of the hall was performed by Councillor Billy Flynn.

"The Trustees, supported by the local community, raised money through grants, fund-raising activities and a just giving page. Our thanks go to our local councillors Billy Flynn, Barry Anderson and Caroline Anderson, Acre, Sports England, The Big Lottery Fund and the Bramhope Trust."
