IT’S a case of Pie Love You this Valentine’s Day as Ilkley butchers realise the way to anyone’s heart is through their stomach.
Lishmans, on Leeds Road, and JB Wilkinson, which has shops in Ilkley, Otley, Rawdon and Bramhope, have come up with special pies to mark the most romantic day of the year.
Forget flowers, diamonds or even a card… nothing says “I love you” to Yorkshire folk like a pie.
The Lishmans effort, which is adorned with a cute little heart, comes gift-wrapped and retails for £6.65. They say: "What better way is there to show how much someone means to you this Valentines Day than treating them to a gift wrapped Lishman’s Pork Pie?”
JB Wilkinson’s entry to the Valentine’s Pie market says “I heart U” on the lid. They say: "Treat your special someone with one of our special Valentine's day pies!”
Both shops are taking orders for their pies now ahead of Valentine’s Day on Monday.
