AN OTLEY man has been fined and banned for drug driving in Yeadon.
Daniel Thorne, 33, of The Whartons, Otley, drove a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.
The defendant appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court on Tuesday, February 8, when he pleaded guilty to the offence which was committed on Moorfield Road, Yeadon, on August 14, 2021.
The court heard he had cocaine in his blood of no less than 194 micrograms of drug per litre of blood, exceeding the specified limit Contrary to section 5A(1)(a) and (2) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.
He was fined £120, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 month.
