SIR Willard White has graced the world's great opera houses and concert halls throughout his illustrious career. It is almost four years since the Jamaican born bass-baritone enthralled a packed King’s Hall.
Bradford Theatres and Friends of the King's Hall are delighted that Sir Willard will return to Ilkley, on Sunday, April 3rd at 7.30pm.
Some Enchanted Evening with Sir Willard White finds the legendary singer equally at home in opera, musical theatre, spirituals, gospel and popular songs. A varied programme laced with anecdotes and reminiscences from the great man himself includes: If I were a Rich Man, I Got Plenty of Nothin’, Old Man River, My Way, some popular opera arias and many more favourite songs.
Opera fans can experience Sir Willard’s rich, velvety voice and magnetic stage presence in Verdi's Rigoletto at Opera North, Leeds Grand Theatre, on Saturday 19th February and on tour.
