IT was a wild day for the Punk Panthers 39 mile Ultra Marathon on Saturday. Runners battled it out from Otley to Pateley Bridge and back. Some chose a shorter route but all were able to shelter and replenish for a little while in the beautiful Blubberhouses Church.

The instillation of a kitchenette and convenience, earlier in the year, meant that the local community were delighted to host the check in point and give some luckier marshals a warmer posting than those positioned above Thrushcross reservoir. They kept their good cheer and support even though some equipment was lost to the wind. Well done to all runners and the whole team.

Blubberhouses Church is open daily for free access and the next Church services in March are on the 20th and 27th. Locals and visitors enjoying the area are all welcome. Mothering Sunday has traditionally been the reopening of the church after winter, but because there is now under pew heating, services have taken place in January and February this year. The little church on the hill welcomes you.
