OTLEY and Yeadon Labour Party has announced its candidate for the Local Council Election on Thursday, May 5.
The Labour candidate for Otley and Yeadon on Leeds City Council will be Steve Clapcote, a medical scientist at Leeds University and a previous parliamentary candidate in the neighbouring Shipley constituency. Over the coming weeks, he will be out on the doorstep, speaking with residents, and campaigning on issues that matter to local people, including better public transport, more affordable housing, and better facilities for young people.
He said: “My work as a medical scientist, interacting with patients with disabling conditions and their families, has given me a driving passion for making life better for people. I want to be part of ensuring a bright future for Otley and Yeadon and am looking forward to meeting with residents and offering a positive vision of the benefits that a Labour councillor could bring to both towns.”
