ILKLEY Local History Hub is holding a zoom meeting this weekend to follow up on a walk it led in March.
A group met on March 26 in Castle Yard and enjoyed a walk along Bridge Lane to the Old Bridge.
Local historian Alex Cockshott said: "We started at the top of Bridge Lane and carried on past the old donkey field. We carried on along Bridge Lane, the ancient route to reach the Old Bridge. The bridge was rebuilt in 1675 following a violent storm which washed away all the bridge along the Wharfe.
"We looked up at the site of the former Middelton Hotel which overlooked the Old Bridge. The only remaining part of the Hotel still in use is the Ilkley Vaults.
"We returned through the World War Two Memorial Gardens. These were developed in the 1950s. We turned back the slope to finish back in Castle Yard.
"We shall follow this up with a zoom event this Saturday (April 30). We shall email the link to people already signed up but welcome any new attendees, who should sign up via localhistory@civicsociety.ilkley.org"
