JUNE 30 marks the end of the calendar year for Lions International and with-it Otley Lions club president Richard Phillips steps down after his second year in the position.
Over the last year the club have made donations to Prince Henry's, Wheatfields Hospice, Otley Defibrillators, and to local scouts. The club also donated over £5000 to the Ukrainian appeal with £2732.20 coming directly from donations by local people. During the club's last business meeting of the year on June 20, the club welcomed new member Ian Walton and Richard passed on the chain of office to president elect Gareth Dibble who takes over on July 1. The club is always looking for new members. Meetings are on the first and third Monday of the month in the function room of the Horse & Farrier, 7 Bridge St, Otley, LS21 1BQ at 8pm.
