ILKLEY Wharfedale Rotary Club has presented a cheque to Nell Bank Charitable Trust which will support 20 assisted places for children who would not otherwise be able to attend the outdoor education centre in Ilkley.
Richard Bourdon, chair of Nell Bank Charitable Trust said: “In our first year as an independent charity the support we receive from Rotary is really important to us. Having local partners who recognise and value the work we do, and support us, make a real difference to the children in our communities”.
Dan Goodey, Head of Centre at Nell Bank added: “This donation from the Rotary Club is fantastic. With the increases in the cost of living that everyone is experiencing, this money will ensure that children facing financial hardship are still able to attend, these are often the children who benefit most for participating in one of our outdoor learning programmes.”
Local charity, LS29, are also hosting a number of families with children with additional needs, supported by an earlier cheque from the Rotary club. All funded from the proceeds of the 2022 Great Ilkley Duck Race.
