A HEAVILY intoxicated casualty had to be rescued from the roof of an Ilkley building in the early hours of today.
Ilkley firefighters were called to assist ambulance crews at 4.15am on Thursday, August 18 with a casualty who had become stuck on the roof top of Ilkley community and youth centre after becoming heavily intoxicated through alcohol resulting in them becoming unconscious.
A spokesperson for Ilkley Fire Station said: "We used the short extension to reach the casualty and 13.5 metre ladder to assist them to safety once they had become rousable and able to stand. "Casualty safely handed over to Yorkshire Ambulance service and West Yorkshire police."
