A light aircraft had to make an emergency landing at Leeds Bradford Airport last night.
The privately owned aeroplane was flying from London to Liverpool when it began facing engine problems.
There were five people on board in total.
West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue sent out the night crew from Rawdon station to assist airport teams.
Some residents who live close to Leeds Bradford Airport could hear the plane circling in the skies around 11.30pm.
“I heard something circling last night,” one local said.
“It took quite a while before it went away.
“It sounded a bit unusual – sick, off key note to the engine.”
The Pilatus PC-12 NGX – which has a £4 million price tag – circled around Yeadon, Bramhope, Otley and the airport before making a safe landing.
There were no injuries reported.
Fire crews left the pilot and passengers with Leeds Bradford Airport’s team and returned to base.
