A NEW Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to be situated at The Hermit Inn at Burley Woodhead.
Burley-in-Wharfedale Parish Council has funded the AED, working in partnership with Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
The equipment is in the process of being installed and will be stored in a locked secure cabinet. Once the equipment is live, it will be registered with Yorkshire Ambulance Service. In the event of an emergency, you should call 999 and will then be told the location and the code needed to access it.
There are also defibrillators at the Queens Hall and at the pavilion at Scalebor Park in Burley-in-Wharfedale.
A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest. This high energy shock is called defibrillation, and it's an essential part in trying to save the life of someone who’s in cardiac arrest.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service 'Save a Life' app can help you locate your nearest AED so that you can be prepared for an emergency situation.
