AN open evening at Prince Henry’s Grammar School in Otley was a great success, with over 800 children, parents and carers flocking to find out more about joining the school next year in Year 7.
Staff and students led interactive sessions with visitors in every subject area, with hands on activities from sweet similes to keyboard playing, exploding science experiments, food and fun from foreign languages, quizzes from across the humanities, PE with school sports leaders and mathematical challenges.
Emily, from Otley All Saints Primary School, enjoyed cracking the codes to unlock the box in the Maths Faculty.
Sally Bishop, headteacher said: “It was fantastic to have such a great attendance from people interested in coming to our school and to see our talented staff and confident students welcoming them. I really enjoyed meeting so many of our potential new parents and pupils. Older students who are interested in joining our friendly and high achieving Sixth Form can come along on Thursday 3rd November, when we hold our annual Sixth Form Open Evening.”
The Prince Henry’s Grammar School Sixth Form Opening Evening takes place from 6.30pm until 8.30pm on Thursday 3rd November and students in Year 11 from any school are welcome to attend.
