BURLEY-in-Wharfedale Community Trust is putting the final touches to the annual Christmas market, craft fair and Christmas lights switch on, which takes place on Saturday, November 26.

Three households in Burley-in-Wharfedale are doing a fantastic job hosting families from Ukraine and Burley Community Trust is delighted to announce that our friends from Ukraine have kindly agreed to turn on our spectacular Christmas light display this year at around 4.30pm.

Burley Main Street will be closed from midday until 6.30pm and a diversion will be set up via Back Lane, Grange Road and Station Road. Parking restrictions will be in place along Station Road and Grange Road throughout the time of the road closures.

Festivities start at 11.30am when The Methodist Church will be open with a Christmas themed display and will be serving soup and refreshments. Salem Church will also be open at 2pm with a Tereli Friendship Trust display and refreshments.

The Queens Hall will be open at 1pm and is the venue of a craft fair and café run by Burley Guides. Over 20 stalls will be in the hall selling a range of gifts, food, and books. Entry is free.

At 2pm the Street Market will be open with over 20 stalls selling a range of produce, gifts, and drinks. A mini fun fair will also be open to entertain the kids.

At 3.15pm there will be choirs singing from our local schools, with the Ukulele Jammers and the Love Pop Choir also performing. Father Christmas and his sleigh will be outside the Grange at 3pm to say hello to all the children in the village and beyond.

Finally Burley Cricket Club will also be opening their doors at 4.30pm with more entertainment, food and drinks.
