IT has been another busy week of ins and outs for Northern Premier League Premier Division side Guiseley, with a controversial former Manchester City academy player joining the club.
Defender Courtney Meppen-Walter was jailed for 16 months in 2013 for causing the deaths of two siblings, Kulwant Singh, 32, and Ravel Kaur, 37, by careless driving.
Meppen-Walter was just 18 at the time of the offence in September 2012, and he escaped another prison sentence after being found twice the legal alcohol limit behind the wheel in Manchester in December 2018.
He instead received a 22-month driving ban.
Meppen-Walter was released by Manchester City after he was found guilty of the former offence, but after being released from jail early, he joined Carlisle United.
He played 29 league games for the Cumbrians, before dropping out of the Football League.
He has since played for the likes of Stockport County and Chorley.
Meppen-Walter has joined Guiseley on loan from his current club Radcliffe.
A couple have players have left the club during this Christmas period though, with Nicky Walker joining Liversedge for an undisclosed fee, while Jordan Emery has left for Marske United.
