THE first apartments at Adlington Retirement Living’s latest community in Menston near Ilkley are now available to reserve off-plan, with the development due to complete ready for homeowners to move in this Spring.
The development, known as The Spindles, has been built by Adlington Retirement Living, which specialises in designing, building and operating award-winning integrated retirement living communities with care. Dacre, Son & Hartley has been appointed as the scheme’s preferred estate agent.
The Spindles occupies the site of the former Hare & Hounds pub, and the four-storey building offers a selection of 72 privately owned one, two and three bedroom apartments for the over 60s. Most apartments benefit from patios or walk-out balconies and homeowners can enjoy the community’s landscaped grounds.
On-site amenities include a restaurant, cinema room, activities studio, fully furnished guest suite, parking, hair salon, therapy suite and homeowners’ lounge. There’s also a homeowners’ parking area and a mobility scooter and bicycle store with electric charging facilities. Optional personal care packages are also available.
Dale Johnson from Adlington Retirement Living, said: “We always work hard at every development to nurture a community spirit, whilst promoting independence and individual respect. Our developments offer homes that are built and finished to the highest standard and give homeowners the chance to become part of a thriving community of like-minded people, and The Spindles will epitomise this ethos.
“Many of our homeowners move to retirement communities whilst they’re fit and healthy, to future-proof their retirement. We offer a personal approach to care to ensure that each individual receives just the right amount to maintain their independence, allowing them to enjoy their retirement to the full. Plus, our on-site support team are always there in the background, offering peace of mind that help is immediately available if it’s ever required.”
Lesley Shakeshaft, who heads up Dacre, Son & Hartley’s Burley in Wharfedale office, said: “Located in the heart of Menston, The Spindles is in a very popular location with lovely countryside, sports clubs, shops, pubs, restaurants, as well as all Guiseley’s amenities, nearby. Menston railway station is within easy walking distance and buses to Ilkley, Otley, Guiseley, Leeds and Bradford also stop right outside.
“After the scaffolding was removed recently, the local community have had the chance to see how The Spindles is set to become a landmark building for Menston and this has really stirred interest in the development. We’re very excited to be launching these apartments and would urge anyone interested to contact us now to arrange to view the show apartments and experience for themselves the quality of what’s on offer.”
