AIREBOROUGH Rotary’s annual interactive quiz once again proved a success at Horsforth Golf Club, with 18 different teams ensuring a full house.
For this quiz with a difference the volunteer question writers came up with a diverse set of topics for the six rounds comprising pantomimes, baking, Yorkshire, ghosts, hair and 2022. The final round, the imaginative team challenge, involved tasting and naming six different flavours of crisps.
Winners for the second time were Yorkshire Gals, one point ahead of the Lovable Llamas with the Musketeers in third place. The winning team was made up of four Aireborough Inner Wheel members Julie Hipkin, Carol Davis, Lilian Garner and Denise Gambling plus two friends Carole Keighley and Janet Sherris.
Including a Pie and Pea supper this evening was more about Rotary fun and enjoyment than fund raising but still added a small profit to the Aireborough Club’s Benevolent Account as well as potential new members. The next event is the Beer Festival on June 15, 16 and 17 which run in conjunction with Guiseley Theatre and Rawdon Parish Church.
