A DRIVER has been ordered to pay almost £2,000 and has been disqualified from driving after admitting failing to stop after a road traffic incident at Blubberhouses on August 1 last year.
Neil Townson, 55, of Hardisty Hill, Blubberhouses near Otley, had initially pleaded not guilty to being the driver of a Toyota Rav4 which was involved in an incident at Hardisty Hill where personal injury was caused to another person.
Townson changed his plea to guilty when he appeared before magistrates sitting in York on February 1.
A charge of failing to report an accident and another of driving without due care and attention were dismissed (no evidence offered).
The defendant was fined £1,125 and was ordered to pay a surcharge of £450 and court costs of £400.
He was disqualified from driving for six months.
