FIREFIGHTERS from Ilkley Fire Station visited Askwith Primary School with their fire engine to help teach children about fire safety.
The children were given a tour of the fire engine, tried on helmets, held a hose, heard the siren and were shown all the equipment.
All year groups - from nursery to Year 6 - also listened to a fire safety talk and learnt about the job of a firefighter.
A school spokesperson said: "We have already welcomed the police into school and are looking forward to welcoming the paramedics as part of our enhanced curriculum.
"We currently have spaces available in September in nursery for children who are three years and places in the reception class. "We also have availability in other year groups and if interested please contact the school on 01943 462896 or email askwith@ycatschools.co.uk to arrange a visit and meet with the head teacher."
