A TEENAGER who is opening his own gym in Bradford hopes to expand his business across the UK.
Rob Stoves, 19, is opening his Muscle Bound Gym, at Beckside Business Park, in Beckside Road, from 8am on Saturday, April 8. He started his business by opening a gym in the garage of his parent’s home during lockdown.
His new 16,000 square foot gym site has between 15 to 30 machines for people to use per body part.
It includes a supplement shop which is rented out to another company.
Muscle Bound Gym also has a recovery room which features an ice bath and sauna room. Elsewhere it has a studio for classes to be run and has a designated powerlifting area. Dumbells from weights 2.5kg to 100kg are also available to use.
Cardio equipment on-site also includes treadmills, bikes, cross-trainers, rowing machines and stair masters.
The teen entrepreneur’s ambitions go beyond a traditional gym as he also plans to open up a barbers at the site in the future. There is also free on-site parking available for gym-goers.
Mr Stoves, of Otley, says he has big ambitions for his new company, which will start in Bradford and hopes to open up sites across the country.
He said: “I want to have a gym like this is every major city in the UK. I have learned through this whole process.
“It has always been my dream to open my own gym. It’s nice to see it come towards the end now and it’s open.
“During lockdown, I converted my parent’s garage into a gym. I qualified online to become a personal trainer. I was 17 when I did that. It was a dry run for me to own my own gym.
“We have over 100 gym machines. It has been very stressful, but it has paid off in the end.
“I’m looking at opening a barbers here too. It’s got everything.”
Mr Stoves has sourced equipment for his gym from top suppliers including Prime, Hammer Strength, Atlantis and Flex Fitness.
Muscle Bound Gym will be open Monday to Friday between 6am and 11pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 8pm.
Membership prices for Muscle Bound Gym are £379.99 for a year pass, a month pass is priced £38.99, a monthly direct debit membership is reduced to £34.99, while a weekly pass costs £18 and a day pass is priced £7. Go to muscleboundgymuk.co.uk for more information.
