BRAMHOPE is all set to celebrate the Coronation and the Leeds Marathon with a Coronation Cabaret.
A spokesperson for Bramhope & Carlton Parish Council said: "There's been a lot of activity in Bramhope in preparation for the celebrations for the Coronation of King Charles III on the 6th of May and for the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon on Sunday 14th May. Bramhope is one of the two spectator hubs for the Marathon as it will pass through Bramhope twice.
"Preparations for the Coronation are well in hand, with the Memorial Gardens and the Cross already decorated. The Bramhope in Bloom group have been particularly busy putting up bunting for the Coronation around the village, planting floral displays in appropriate colours and preparing to decorate sites along the route with balloons and the number 7 for the day of the marathon.
"A highlight of both events will be the Coronation Cabaret evening, sponsored by Bramhope & Carlton Parish Council, to be held at Bramhope Village Hall on Saturday 13th May at 7.30 pm, the evening before the Marathon.
"The Cabaret features Kate Peters with the Derrick Harris Quartet. Kate is a very versatile and talented vocalist, a graduate of Leeds College of Music who embraces a wide range of music from jazz to pop to musical theatre. Kate appeared in Bramhope last year as part of the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations and the evening was such a success that there were many requests for a repeat performance for the Coronation.
"It promises to be a fantastic evening. Tickets are £10 and it is a Bring Your Own Drinks event."
