GIRLS football team Pool Lionesses are recruiting for new players aged 14-16 for next season as well as a new coach.
Pool Lionesses are named after England’s Lionesses who are European champions and currently competing in the Woman’s World Cup. They play in the Harrogate and District League and are part of Pool AFC, Pool-in-Wharfedale. The team has been together for several seasons.
The new season starts in September and the team will be a combined Under 15 and Under 16 team meaning that girls who will be in Year 10 (aged 14 and 15) and Year 11 (aged 15 and 16) from September can play. Matches are Saturday morning and training is on Thursday evenings.
Team Secretary Jo Gawthorpe said: “We’ve got a really nice group of girls at Pool Lionesses. It would be great to have a few more players joining us for next season and we’d be delighted to welcome them.
“More and more girls and women and playing football and we hope to continue to be part of offering Under 15 and Under 16 girls football in this area. Do get in contact, we’d love to hear from potential players, parents and anyone who’d like to get involved with coaching.”
