THERE are long delays this morning after a car smashed into a barrier and a road sign.
It happened at the Horsforth roundabout at around 5.30am today and the road is partially blocked.
Police were called to the scene at the junction of Broadway and New Road Ride.
"A VW Golf had been involved in a collision with a barrier and a road sign," said a spokesperson.
"The driver of the car, a man in his fifties, was taken to hospital.
"The roundabout was closed but one lane was reopened a short time ago.
"Drivers are advised to avoid the area while the scene is cleared."
Traffic alerts are reporting "severe delays" in the area and delays back to Rawdon, Kirkstall, and Farsley.
Alerts say that traffic cannot access the southbound A6120, so traffic is being forced to head towards Kirkstall.
There are also delays through Calverley, on top of congestion caused by roadworks at Apperley Bridge.
