THE Friends of Weston Playpark were very grateful for some lovely sunshine and great support for their fundraising stall at Otley Buttercross on Saturday, September 9th.
A spokesperson for the group said: “Lots of hard work went into the stall, knitting ducks, crocheting earrings and doggy bandanas and baking cakes. Many items were also kindly donated for sale.
“The day was very successful in increasing awareness of the cause and a great total of £290.53 was raised for the campaign.
“The group was set up to improve the playpark on Meagill Rise in Otley for local families. The current equipment is old, outdated and tired, and there is an urgent need for more accessible provision to allow all youngsters to enjoy the park. The pupils at local Ashfield Primary School gave us lots of colourful ideas in a recent competition.
“Friends of Weston Playpark will be running regular events so look out for them over the coming months.”
