DalesBus services from Otley will be improved this winter, as Saturday DalesBus service 74 to Bolton Abbey, Burnsall and Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales National Park will continue running throughout the winter months.
The service usually only runs during the summer, but in response to passenger requests Dales and Bowland Community Interest Company, the volunteer-run organisation which manages the service, is trialling a winter service to help improve sustainable access to the National Park.
The bus is operated by Reliance, and runs every Saturday from Otley Bus Station at 0950 to Ilkley, Bolton Abbey, Burnsall and Grassington. The bus returns from Grassington at 1700 and Bolton Abbey at 1725. Full details of the times and stops are available online at www.dalesbus.org/74.
On Sundays DalesBus 874 runs at the same times, and continues to Kettlewell and Buckden, returning from Buckden at 1625.
As part of the national initiative to reduce the cost of bus travel the maximum single fare on both these services is just £2, and under 19s travel for £1. Elderly and disabled bus passes are also valid for free travel.
Timetable leaflets are available from Otley library and Otley Core.
DalesBus services 820 and 821 to the Washburn Valley/Nidderdale and DalesBus 876 to Hawes have now finished for the winter.
