THE Friends of Chevin Forest are looking for new blood to get involved with activities on The Chevin.
The Friends of Chevin Forest are a group of volunteers who care about Chevin Forest Park (known locally as The Chevin) and work in partnership with Leeds City Council’s Parks & Countryside service, who own and manage the land.
There are monthly opportunities to carry out practical conservation work or help research the history of The Chevin.
Penny Redwood, Chair of Friends of Chevin Forest Park, said: "We're holding an Open Evening on Tuesday 16th January at 7.30pm upstairs at the Horse and Farrier pub on Bridge Street, Otley where we'll talk a bit about the history and why it's such a special place to have on our doorstep.
"We have various volunteering opportunities - from getting our hands dirty on task days to being involved in local history (Chevin Through Time), developing walks, projects, activities and events. Get a drink from the bar and come on up to join us with your enthusiasm, skills and interests. We're always open to new ideas!"
