ILKLEY and District Good Neighbours is celebrating an award recognising the charity’s standards and good practice in its volunteer programme, which helps a number of older and less able people in the community.
The People Can Volunteering Quality Standard Award is valid until December 2026 when it can be reapplied for.
“We are pleased to confirm that Ilkley and District Good Neighbours has successfully achieved and been awarded the People Can Volunteering Standard,” said Chris Bulmer, Volunteering Development Officer, Community Action Bradford and District.
“Your evidence met, and in many ways exceeded the assessment criteria, which is a credit to the way your organisation organises and manages its volunteers. This included comprehensive ongoing support to volunteers via written and in-person policies/processes.
“The charity’s Volunteer Handbook is also an excellent, user-friendly guide to support your volunteers and information resource for them.”
Chairman of Ilkley Good Neighbours Ed Duguid said: “At our charity all our trustees and staff are constantly striving to improve the quality of our services, doing our best to put in place the best systems to ensure the quality of service. We’re delighted that this has been recognised with this special award.
“Our eighty volunteers are the frontline of our services; they do an amazing job and we need to ensure we support them in every way we can.”
