The wait is finally over for Knaresborough residents! The vastly awaited new building ‘Knaresborough Leisure and Wellness centre’ opened its doors on the 11th of December to the public.
After building commenced in 2022, the £17.5 million energy efficient leisure and wellness centre finally completes the £47.9 million project (initiated by the North Yorkshire council) across the Harrogate district.
Replacing the once Knaresborough pool site, the new building includes many anticipated, appreciated and great features. These include: a 6 lane 25 metre pool, a pool pod to improve accessibility, a leisure pool accompanied with a flume, a 60 station fitness suite, a fitness studio, a sauna and steam room, an immersive group cycling studio, a café, and finally an outdoor play area for the children to enjoy. All these developments are to help Brimhams active's desire to “move more, live well and feel great”.
As someone that has grown up in Knaresborough, I can confidently say that the Knaresborough Leisure and Wellness centre will be a huge hit among children and adults alike. It is the perfect location for anyone, whether they want swimming lessons, to go to the gym, join some fitness classes or just go for a fun swim.
