Ilkley Juniors U-9s were invited by the Guiseley FC Chairman Phil Rogerson to play against Guiseley U-9s at half-time during his club's game against Leeds United on Monday night.
Mark Brow, an official of the Ilkley team, said: "It was an absolutely wonderful experience for all the boys playing in front of hundreds of Leeds United and Guiseley fans and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience thanks to Guiseley AFC.
"As far as the match went, Ilkley U-9s won 2-0 with goals from Christopher Davies and Louis Brow but this wasn't about the result. It was certainly about the aforementioned match day experience made possible by Guiseley. This was an unforgettable evening for the boys.
"I know that both the junior clubs are always on the lookout for new players, any potential Ilkley players just need to turn up at East Holmes Field on a Saturday morning at 10am prior to the start of the new season."
For the record Guiseley defeated Leeds United 2-1 in this pre-season friendly.
What was basically a Leeds United reserve team was given a footballing lesson by a buzzing Guiseley.
There was a sombre moment prior to kick-off when a minute's silence was observed for Adam Chadwick, the 20-year-old gunned down on the doorstep of his sister's home in Leeds a few weeks ago.
There was added interest in the game for the locals when the Leeds side included two local youngsters who have recently signed contracts with the club - Chris Ovington of Horsforth and Aidan White of Menston.
Ovington started the game and indeed it was he who opened the scoring for Leeds in the fifth minute. Young White, whose brother Callum plays in the Guiseley Reserve team, came on as a second-half substitute.
Fabian Delph was the pick of a lacklustre United side but the evening's star turn was diminutive striker David Brown who scored both Guiseley's goals. He is proving to be a real crowd pleaser and has scored some excellent goals in the pre-season warm ups. United included players with plenty of first team experience in Ben Parker, Seb Carole and Ian Westlake and they got off to a positive start when Ovington, whose father Phil coaches the Guiseley U-18 squad, netted from an Oliver Hotchkiss pass.
United had caused a bit of a stir pre-match when they brought only a white kit - white being the colour of Guiseley's home kit. The home side thus had to change into their yellow away strip.
Guiseley, expected to be among the title contenders in their division this season, struggled to get hold of the ball early on but were level when against the run of play on 14 minutes a mistake by Andrew Milne allowed Adam Muller to get clear and he set Brown up to fire home from his cross.
The goal lifted the confidence of the Guiseley side and Brown went close again on 17 minutes when his snap shot clipped a post following some flowing football.
United keeper Alan Martin reacted quickly to save Brice Tiani's deflected shot before Guiseley went in front on 26 minutes when Martin could only parry Muller's drive and the ever alert Brown was there to slot in the rebound.
Leeds' best chance to equalise came ten minutes before the break when Delph broke clear with only Piotr Skiba to beat but the Polish keeper made a good block with his legs.
After an open first-half both managers made a series of changes in the second-half which disrupted the flow and neither team really threatened, though Martin had to react quickly to save a shot from Mark Whitehouse.
