OTLEY Camera Club is delighted to announce the return of its Annual Photographic Exhibition.
The event will take place on May 18th and 19th at Otley Parish Church (Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 1.30pm to 4pm).
A spokesperson said: "This year's exhibition promises to showcase a breath-taking array of images from our talented members, spanning various photographic genres such as landscapes, portraits, wildlife, and still life.
"The event will offer additional engaging activities, including a tombola, coffee and cakes, a public voting system for favourite photographs, and a photography prints sale. We are also excited about welcoming the Mos Eisley Misfits [on May 18] who will be dressed as Star Wars characters for visitors to meet and photograph. Look out for the StormTroopers and Chewbacca, to name a few, patrolling the streets of Otley.
"Our event, which is kindly being sponsored by Specsavers, will be raising money for the 2wish charity, which helps all those affected by the sudden and traumatic death of a child or young adult.

"Otley Camera Club, though relatively small in size, boasts an impressive array of talented photographers who have achieved success in both national and international competitions. In the previous Yorkshire Photographic Exhibition, our junior member, Evie Sells, earned a first-place trophy, while our chair, Chris Charlesworth, was honoured with the prestigious title of "Best Author." As a club, we secured second place in the overall club category and clinched first place in the best print club, a remarkable achievement considering our competition included larger clubs from towns and cities like Huddersfield, York, Leeds, Bradford, Doncaster, Sheffield, and Hull.
"Club nights at Otley Camera Club offer a diverse range of activities, including speakers, practical sessions, competitions, and social events. Our 'Out and Abouts' take members to various events and locations for the opportunity to capture exceptional images. Recent partnerships have included working with Otley Carnival, Victorian Fayre, Otley Cycle Races, Otley Netball Club, Leeds Warriors (Ice Hockey), and Leeds Gorse Women’s Volleyball Team. Otley Camera Club prides itself on being a friendly and supportive community where new members of any skill level are always welcomed. We look forward to meeting you at our exhibition."
