LAST Saturday saw five members of the Parkin family from Otley took advantage of a brief break in the weather to make a skydive in aid of Parkinson’s UK.
Richard, Kelly, Naomi, Alex and Maia travelled to Shotton Colliery Airfield near Durham to leap from the plane and have raised nearly £4,000 for the charity.
Dad, Richard, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s nine years ago and his daughters decided it was time to help him raise some much needed funding for the charity as it seeks to find a cure for the disease.
Richard said: “To do the skydive with my girls on Father's Day weekend was special and we really want to thank everyone who has supported us with their hard earned money."
