OTLEY Courthouse is celebrating after being awarded £20,000 in National Lottery funding.
The arts and resource centre will use the funding to support the employment of a volunteer coordinator, recruiting new volunteers and for continued training of its staff and volunteers.
A spokesperson for Otley Courthouse said it was grateful for the funding it has received from the National Lottery both in the past and now, adding: "This project will help alleviate social isolation and build people’s confidence through participation and skills development."
In its 20th anniversary year, the centre is proud to be community led, being run by only a handful of staff and over 100 volunteers, who were awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2019.
As one volunteer shared: "The Courthouse is a unique community venue offering social cement, encouraging local people especially, to be involved as providers, participants or audience."
