Another 457 children in Aireborough will start the new school year with their very own Osborne Illustrated Dictionary thanks to Aireborough Rotary Club.
Aireborough Rotarians, community leader/organiser Sally Mohan together with Bill Hudson, Peter Long, Robert Mirfield, John Moorhouse and new member Mark Whitfield visited ten primary school to hand out the books.
A spokesperson said: "After an explanation of what Rotary is and does, there are always children ready to ask questions like: ‘how does it feel when you are doing good for others?’, ‘how many children have you helped this year?’ and ‘who inspires you?’ Once all distributed, asking the pupils to find the dinosaur page always causes plenty noise and excitement."
The schools involved this year were: Broadgate Lane Primary, Horsforth, Horsforth Featherbank Primary, Guiseley Primary, Newlaithes Junior, Horsforth, Queensway Primary, Yeadon, Rufford Park Primary, Rawdon, St Margaret’s C of E Primary, Horsforth, St Oswald’s Junior, Guiseley, St Peter and Paul Catholic Primary, Yeadon and Westfield Junior, Yeadon.
