YEAR 11 students at Horsforth School are thrilled to be tearing open their results envelopes as it reveals yet another year of outstanding GCSE results.

Over two thirds (67%) of all grades awarded were a strong pass (a 5) or above which is significantly higher than the national average.

Dr Paul Bell, the school’s headteacher said: “We have had a very successful year! Our students have done extremely well, almost a third of all grades were a grade 7 (the old A) or better.”

The school’s individual standout successes for students with bright futures include Frank, Libby, Rory, Georgia, Matthew, Anya, Caitlin, Olivia and Hari.

Dr Bell added: “We are immensely proud of our Year 11 students who have shown resilience, determination and have made amazing progress during the disruption of the pandemic. I look forward to welcoming many of them to the Sixth Form at Horsforth in September. Our sixth form achieved outstanding results last week where 38 percent of all grades were A*and A grades and 68 percent achieved A* to B, so I know they will be just fine. In fact, we can now say our sixth form achieved the highest state school A Level results in Leeds for the third year running!”

The Sixth Form at Horsforth is committed to helping students excel in areas they are passionate about, be that academic or extracurricular. A thriving Sixth Form with fantastic results, along with its state-of-the-art campus it offers everything students need to succeed.
