BENTON Park School welcomed Year 11 students into school today as they collected their much-anticipated GCSE results.
It marked the end of five years of hard work at the Rawdon school.
A school spokesperson said: "We are proud of all that they have achieved in their time. It has been fantastic to see so many students receiving brilliant results, and, seeing the amazing young people they have become.
"These young people have performed well particularly considering the disruption during their education, our students showed great endeavour, resilience and maturity and they should rightly feel proud of their achievements. This is testament to the commitment and hard work by both students and staff, coupled with amazing parental support.
"They now face an exciting phase as they prepare for their chosen Post 16 destinations. Many of them will be joining us to continue their studies at our Benton Park Sixth Form and we look forward to welcoming them back in September."
Chair of Governors, Vic Clarke, said: “I am delighted with the results of all of our students and on behalf of the Governors would like to pass on my sincere thanks to their teachers, for the dedication with which they serve our students.”
Headteacher Nicholas Skilton said: “We are delighted to be able to celebrate results day with this fantastic group of Year 11 students. It is a real pleasure to be able to celebrate these brilliant results with this inspirational group of young people. We feel incredibly proud of them and their achievements, as they have faced significant challenges throughout their education due to the pandemic. Despite this, they remained focussed and undeterred throughout and continued to work incredibly hard. I would like to thank families for their support of the students and pay tribute to our hard-working and dedicated staff for all they have done for every student.
"Our students should feel very proud of their achievements today and now we look forward to welcoming many students back in September. We wish all students the best of luck with their onward destinations and are proud of the young people they have become.”
