A Bingley Little Theatre (BLT) production Hansard, written by Simon Woods and directed by Abbé Robinson, is set to be performed at Bingley Arts Centre, Main Street, Bingley, from Monday, October 21 to Saturday, October 26 at 7.30pm.
A spokesperson said: "Hansard is an intimate domestic drama about a long and troubled marriage. It is also a comedy about politics, set around the passing of the Section 28 legislation in 1988 which banned the ‘promotion’ of homosexuality. It is a funny, tender, brutal and ultimately devastating tale as the audience watch Robin and Diana’s lives and relationship unravel before their eyes.
"Simon Woods’ cleverly written play cannot fail to touch the hearts of the audience as it draws to its conclusion."
Glenn Boldy plays Robin Hesketh and his wife Diana is played by Geraldine Woodhouse. Both actors have a wealth of experience.
Glenn has played a wide range of characters since he began acting as a teenager: everything from Hobson in ‘Hobson’s Choice’ to Falstaff in ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’. He was most recently in ‘When We Are Married’ at Bingley Little Theatre. He is also a talented director – his most recent productions being ‘Rutherford and Son’ and ‘Hangmen’.
Geraldine Woodhouse was last seen on stage at BLT in the delightful ‘Home, I’m Darling’ in January this year. Her last performance at Ilkley Playhouse was a beautiful portrayal of the title character at Ilkley Playhouse in ‘Honour’.
