Silsden local Nicola Wheeler is no stranger to fundraising for Airedale Hospital & Community Charity. Over the last couple of years Nicola has raised almost £9,000 for the Haematology and Oncology Day Unit.
Nicola began fundraising after a friend began treatment on the Day Unit at Airedale General Hospital. She has hosted, barbecues, themed evenings and even braved the shave in a bid to raise funds.
Her latest annual barbecue saw friends and family coming together in support of Nicola’s fundraising. Together they raised an incredible £3179.10 bringing Nicola’s fundraising total overall to £8835.49.
Laura Hepworth, Community Fundraiser said: “We’re so grateful to Nicola. She has shown a huge commitment to fundraising for HODU. Her determination and excitement to take on new challenges is truly inspiring.
“It’s because of people like Nicola that we’re able to make a difference to our patients, visitors and colleagues. We can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!”
