THIS November, Otley Courthouse is hosting two outstanding folk artists for two nights of live music.

On Saturday, November 23rd, Bella Hardy, BBC Folk Singer of the Year 2014, will perform her new single "One Day at a Time," alongside other songs from her impressive catalogue.

Bella has been a key figure in the folk scene since her teens, when she began performing at festivals like Cambridge and Sidmouth. Her debut album Night Visiting earned her a BBC Folk Award nomination, and she’s since gained recognition for her original compositions and collaborations with artists like Mary Chapin Carpenter and Eliza Carthy. Bella blends traditional folk with her own storytelling, creating music that’s both personal and deeply rooted in folk traditions.

Saturday, November 30th sees the return of Christine Collister to the stage after a four-year break from touring. Christine’s career spans 40 years, during which she’s released 24 albums and built a reputation for her powerful, distinctive voice. Known for her ability to mix folk, blues, jazz, and pop, Christine first gained attention in the 1980s with her performance of the theme tune for the BBC series The Life and Loves of a She-Devil. Over the years, she’s worked with notable musicians like Richard Thompson and Clive Gregson. Christine will be performing songs from her latest project, Children of the Sea, which is inspired by the folklore of the Isle of Man, alongside a selection of her classic songs. This performance at Otley Courthouse will be the final date of her current tour, so grab your party hats!
