KERRY Ward, The Fairydogmother, has been announced Dog Trainer/Behaviourist of the year in the Northern Region 2024 Animal Star awards.
The Animal Star Awards is a prestigious animal industry award and has been described by some as the BAFTA of the animal industry. It gives recognition to humans and animals for the extraordinary things they do for one another The awards are judged by a panel of industry experts and Kerry Ward, founder of The Fairydogmother (Yorkshire) Ltd, was listed as a finalist, and then selected as the winner. There were well over 700 nominations for the Animal Star awards for 2024.
Yeadon-based Kerry was the only Yorkshire Dog Trainer & Behaviourist to reach the finalist stage this year and she was absolutely delighted to have won the award at the black tie event in Nottingham on Saturday evening.
Kerry, a dog trainer for over 12 years, specialises in fear and reactivity in dogs as well as anxiety issues. She is also an expert puppy trainer and loves working with families to build a good, lasting relationship with their new puppy. Kerry says: “Having a dog should be the most wonderful experience and bring years of joy and love and I am here to prevent or resolve problems to help make that happen for people”.
The awards were founded by Mary Burgess in 2016 and set up to give recognition to humans and animals alike for the extraordinary things they do for one another.
